Adult Protective Services
Adult Protective Services staff investigate reports of abuse, neglect (including self-neglect) or financial exploitation of adults who are unable to protect themselves due to a physical or mental limitation. APS staff assess the need for protective services and provide services to reduce the identified risk to the adult.
Food Stamp Program
The Food Stamp program provides nutritional assistance benefits to children and families, the elderly, the disabled, unemployed and working families. Benefits are 100 percent federally funded, and nearly 400,000 Tennessee families are served each month.
Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program
The Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) is 100% federally-funded through a grantfrom the Federal Department of Health and Human Services. LIHEAP provides funds to the states to help meet the utility costs of low-income eligible elderly and disabled adults.
