Knoxville native and famed poet Nikki Giovanni will be the keynote speaker at the 2012 Power of Inclusion luncheon on Wednesday, Feb. 8 at the Nashville Airport Marriott beginning at 11:30 a.m. A Fisk University graduate, Ms. Giovanni has received national acclaim for her writing, speaking, and advocacy for civil rights for all. Giovanni is a University Distinguished Professor at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in Blacksburg, Va. For more information, go to www.nashvillecable.org.

A Roundtable Discussion hosted by the Tennessee Human Rights Commission will be held on Tuesday, February 21, 2012 from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. This event will be held at Second Missionary Baptist Church, 2305 East 3rd Street in Chattanooga. The purpose of this discussion is to provide an overview of the Commission, its work, and to discuss human rights issues in the Chattanooga community and surrounding areas.
