Description

This course is designed to provide the student with the knowledge and skills to become an advocate of the importance of fire prevention and how it ties to the overall mission of an effective fire department by recognizing the community's risk from fire and identifying solutions and resources aimed at addressing their community's fire and injury challenges.

 

The course stresses awareness, advocacy, and motivational content needed by those who traditionally have been focused on operations (suppression, EMS, etc.) and who seek to learn new successful approaches appropriate for communities of all sizes, but most especially America's smaller communities.

 

Course tools include: lessons learned from other communities, resources available, and the means and value of building partnerships and coalitions.
