INTERMEDIATE FIRE INVESTIGATION

Description

This basic fire investigation course includes comprehensive classroom training and practical exercises including flashover demonstrations. Topics covered in this course include building construction, scientific method, fire dynamics, fire chemistry, origin and cause, and fire scene exam methodology.

 

Additional topics include fire investigation myths and legends, fire pattern analysis, basic electricity, evidence collection, and safety. Immediately following acceptance into the course, students are required to purchase copies of NFPA 921 Guide for Fire Investigations, NFPA 1033 Standard for Professional Qualifications for Fire Investigators and Kirk's Fire Investigation.

 

The student is required to read these materials in their entirety before attending this class.
