2010 AmeriCorps Grant Application and Guidance

The Education Awards Program seeks to broaden the network of national service programs and strategies and to increase the number of communities using AmeriCorps members to better meet their environmental, educational, public safety, homeland security, and other human needs. Grantees of the Education Awards Program do not have to provide childcare, a living allowance, or health care to participants. Applicant organizations must obtain most or all of the AmeriCorps member and program costs from other sources. Volunteer Tennessee will consider requests for grants of up to $800 per full-time member (pro-rated for less than full-time members) to defray a minor portion of program management costs. The Corporation for National and Community Service will pay the education awards for members who successfully complete service.

If you do not currently operate an AmeriCorps Education Awards Program, or if you have a program that must re-compete for funding this year, please use the "New and Re-competing" instructions included in the 2010 AmeriCorps*State Application Instructions available below. PLEASE NOTE: All applications must be submitted using the Corporation for National and Community Service eGrants system. For more information on eGrants, click the link below.

Agencies interested in applying for AmeriCorps funding must contact Volunteer Tennessee for the "Prime Application ID Number", which is required to begin the eGrants application.
