What is our role?
OIA serves at the pleasure the F&A Commissioner. Annually, our office develops an audit plan in conjunction with senior management detailing the audits/reviews to be performed for the fiscal year.
Our office is involved in a number of on-going efforts of the department, ranging from facilitating the Financial Integrity Act (Risk Management and Internal Controls) assessment to serving as an advisor to the Tennessee State Veterans Home Board. In addition, we assist senior management in investigative matters concerning financial, compliance, and other issues.
Who is eligible to use our services?
OIA provides services for the benefit of senior management and the divisions of F& A. However, since F&A is intertwined with all of state government, we routinely work with other departments and agencies.
If I want to report fraud, waste, and/or abuse, who do I contact?
If you believe the impropriety relates to F&A employees, contracts, grantees, etc., you can contact our office at (615) 532-7098, or you can contact the State's Comptroller Office's Fraud, Waste and Abuse Hotline at (800) 232-5454.
