FOUR SENTENCED FOR TENNCARE FRAUD

NASHVILLE – Three people in Marshall County have been sentenced on TennCare fraud charges and taken off the TennCare program. In addition, a Robertson County man has been sentenced for TennCare fraud.

The Office of Inspector General (OIG) announced that Amanda Spain, Tim Spain and Amanda Blackwell all pleaded guilty to TennCare fraud and other charges. Amanda Spain was sentenced to one year in jail for obtaining a controlled substance by fraud and 1.6 years to run concurrently for TennCare fraud. She was also ordered to pay restitution for the cost of pills and executed a voluntary request to be terminated from the TennCare program. Spain is already in custody serving time on a probation violation triggered by the TennCare arrest.

Tim Spain received 3.5 years for TennCare fraud and also executed a voluntary request to be terminated from TennCare. He is already in custody serving time on a probation violation triggered by the TennCare arrest.

Amanda Blackwell was sentenced to three years in jail for obtaining a controlled substance by fraud and 1 year 9 months to run concurrently for TennCare fraud. She also executed a voluntary request to be terminated from TennCare.

In an unrelated case, Kenneth Littles was sentenced in Robertson County for TennCare fraud. He received a fine of $18,000 and 3 years probation.
