Camping

Tims Ford State Park Campground

Tims Ford State Park offers a 52-site campground, with water, electric (30 amp) service, picnic table, and fire ring with grill at each site, and a dumping station available at the entrance to the campground. The campground can accommodate RV's up to 40 feet in length on several sites and are able to accommodate both RV's and tents. The campsites are limited to 6 people per site, and one (1) RV and one (1) tent, or two tents per site. Two of the campsites are ADA sites, and are set aside for that reason. The campground has two bathhouses, centrally located that provide hot showers, lavatories and commodes. A playground is located within the campground, and several other playgrounds are located throughout the park.

Campsites are available year round on a first-come, first-served basis and the maximum stay is two weeks.

Fairview Campground

Fairview Campground is a satellite area of Tims Ford State Park. It is open from April 1st through October 31st, and offers a total of 80 camp sites, 12 sites with water, electric (30 amp service)**, and sewer hook ups, 37 sites with water and electric hook ups, 13 sites with water only.

A centrally located bathhouse also provides hot showers, lavatories and commodes. A dump station is also available. Campsites are limited to 6 people per site, and one (1) RV and one (1) tent, or two tents per site. The Campground is located adjacent to the Devil's Step Public Use Area that has a boat ramp for access to Tims Ford Lake.

Campsites are available on a first come first serve basis and have a two week maximum stay except for 18 full hook-up sites, which are rented in March for the entire camping season. Fairview Campground holds its annual auction for Seasonal Campsites on the last Friday of March each year.  The auction will begin at 1:00 PM at the Fairview Campground.  For more information call 931-962-1183.

**The electrical service at Fairview Campground is 30amp. If you use 110 (household plug-ins) you will need an adaptor. Adaptors are available for sale at the camper check-in.

Turkey Creek Camp Area and Island Camping

Turkey Creek is located about 9 miles from the main park entrance. Six islands are located throughout Tims Ford Lake. Campers are required to obtain a free permit from the Visitor Center at Tims Ford State Park before camping. Permits may only be given 5 days or less in advance. Camping is allowed from April 1st – October 31st with a maximum stay of 7 days.
