It's The Law

BRAT 2012 is Sept. 8-15, 2012

2005 BRAT

Welcome to the 23rd annual Bicycle Ride Across Tennessee (BRAT 2012). This seven-day ride will start at Cumberland Mountain State Park in Crossville, TN and feature a combination of rolling hills, valleys, and some flat terrain. The tour will include a balance of some long-distance rides and some short distance days – designed to challenge expert cyclists, while accommodating recreational riders.

Riders will camp overnight at four Tennessee State Parks along the route, including Cumberland Mountain, Standing Stone, Pickett, and Harrison Bay State Parks. The City of Kingston will host one overnight stay at Fort Southwest Point. One layover day is planned at Cumberland Mountain State Park, giving cyclists an opportunity to sightsee – including nature hikes and canoeing. Also a three-day ride option is available for those who aren’t ready for a weeklong tour or have limited vacation time.

Daily mileage ranges from 70 miles on the first and longest leg of the route to 52 miles on the final day.

BRAT Spring Ride, The River and Lakes Tour April 20-21, 2012

A shorter version of the traditional 7-day BRAT Fall Ride, the spring version of the BRAT is a great opportunity to get ready for the 2012 riding season!  Limited to only 2 days, this ride will get you ready for what the BRAT is all about.

We start in West Tennessee at Natchez Trace State Park and ride south to Pickwick Landing State Park and then back to Natchez Trace. Plan for a 160 mile round trip. Just like the 7-day version, there will be a great meal upon arrival at Pickwick, some entertainment that night before leaving to head back to Natchez Trace. Full support the entire route with 4 Rest stops 15-20 miles apart both days. We will also offer a room rate at each location if camping is not your thing. Learn more at www.thebrat.org for information about the ride such as route, menu, etc.
