 Services to the Public:

Investigates contamination from past manufacturing, spills, or storage piles

Uses state contractors to address chemical hazards that pose a serious and immediate health hazard

Provides information for the proper cleanup of clandestine methamphetamine labs

 

 Services to Business:

Provides oversight for voluntary investigation and cleanup

Maintains files of contaminated or formerly contaminated sites

Issues Brownfield Agreements in accordance with TCA 68-212-224

Operates the Tennessee Response Program providing liability relief under federal Comprehensive Environmental Response Compensation and Liability Act (CERCLA) for qualified sites

Operates the Drycleaner Environmental Cleanup Response Program (DCERP)

 

 Services and Cooperative Programs with Government:

Represents Tennessee during federal Comprehensive Environmental Response Compensation and Liability Act (CERCLA) actions

Provides oversight of Department of Defense properties undergoing cleanup

Provides information to local governments on federal Brownfield grants
