The Ozone Action Partnership works to reduce ozone levels especially during the hot summer months of the ozone season. The Partnership operates an Air Alert program, which provides forecasts for unhealthy air quality in affected counties. Air Alerts provide advance warning of days when air quality is expected to become unhealthy and includes actions that everyone can take to reduce air pollution and protect health.
The Ozone Action Partnership includes the Sullivan County Health Department, Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation, City of Johnson City, City of Kingsport, City of Bristol, First Tennessee Development District, Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development, Sullivan County Economic Development Commission, Eastman Chemical Company, Tennessee Valley Authority, East Tennessee State University, American Lung Association, and Northeast Tennessee Tourism Association.
