Professional Development and Continuing Education Credits
Environmental Professionals from a wide variety of disciplines benefit from the technical sessions at the Environmental Show of the South. Here's how to ensure you get the needed development credit for your attendance.
Landfill Operators can earn one credit hour of state approved training for each hour spent in the Solid Waste sessions. Credit may also be earned for some parts of the Materials Management sessions. Forms will be distributed in each session to those desiring the credit. There is no additional charge for this.
SWANA Members can earn Continuing Education Units (CEUs) for relevant technical sessions. CEU forms will be available at the TN SWANA Booth in the Exhibit Hall and in the sessions.
Professional Engineers can earn Professional Development Hours (PDHs) at the conference. Engineers must keep their own records, including a marked copy of the agenda indicating items attended, their paid receipt, and their name badge.
Attorneys can earn Continuing Legal Education (CLE) credits through the Tennessee Bar Association. Attorneys who wish to receive CLE credit must complete a form in the Environmental Law Sessions documenting session attendance and pay an additional fee along with conference registration.
Professional Geologists in Tennessee do not require continuing education, but those licensed in other states may be able to earn credit.
Certified Hazardous Materials Managers/Practitioners can earn up to five Certification Maintenance Points (CMPs) per day. CHHMs and CHMPs are responsible for their own recordkeeping and must keep their name badges and agendas.
Certificates of Attendance can be purchased by any attendee for $10. Certificates can be picked up on site on the second day of the event or during the Closing Session.
