Miss Tennessee BIO: Ellen is pursuing a B.A. degree in Music at Union University in Jackson, TN. She hopes to become classical vocalist. While a student at Union, Ellen traveled to Nova Contagem, Brazil, where she volunteered for a medical missions program, organized a state-wide coat drive for tornado victims on her college campus, collected 2,000 flip flops for a Nicaraguan mission trip and authored a children's book, "Chester's Helping Paws," to teach schoolchildren the importance of helping at an early age so as to cultivate a lifetime of service. Miss Tennessee School Visit Information: Ellen will assist the Department of Education by speaking to elementary school students regarding the importance of building strong character and remaining drug-free. The district Character Education Coordinator and/or the Safe and Drug Free Coordinator (Title IV) are the only individuals who may submit a request.
