Governor's Advisory Council for Alternative Education
The Governor's Advisory Council for Alternative Education is comprised of 10 members including parents of children attending an alternative school or who have attended, teachers, principals, members of local boards of education, community representatives, and a member of the Tennessee Alternative Educators Association. Appointments are made by the Governor for a term of 3 years. The Advisory Council is charged to do the following:

Public Announcement:The Governor’s Advisory Council for Alternative Education will meet September 12, 2008, November 21, 2008, February 6, 2009, and April 24, 2009. All meetings will be held in the Commissioner of Education's Conference room located in the Andrew Johnson Tower on James Robertson Parkway. Meetings will prompted begin at 9:00 AM and will commence no later than 2:30 PM.
