Extended Learning Summer Symposium
The Tennessee Department of Education Extended Learning Programs will host the third annual Summer Symposium June 3-4 at the Embassy Suites Conference Center in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. The symposium is an opportunity for 21st Century Community Learning Center (CCLC) and Lottery for Education Afterschool Programs (LEAPs) grantees to network with colleagues across the state and learn about extended learning best practices. Special pre-conference sessions have been scheduled for new program managers (or those who may want a refresher) who cover basic program management.

The symposium will be a time of reflection and celebration of all the great work that has been done across the state in extended learning programs. You don't want to miss it!
Tennessee School Safety Specialist Program Training
The department will be hosting the summer training for the Tennessee School Safety Specialist Program (TSSSP) on June 15-17 at Drury Plaza in Franklin. The goal of TSSSP is to provide ongoing training to school districts on best practices for school safety, security, intervention/prevention and emergency preparedness planning.
Only the district SAVE Act contact can participate and must be nominated by their Director of Schools. After all training requirements are complete, participants will receive official recognition as a Tennessee School Safety Specialist. Download the required agreement and registration form.
