Assessment blueprints are designed to show educators a summary of what will be assessed in each grade, including the approximate number of items that will address each standard. This resource is designed to help educators as they plan for the upcoming school year. The blueprints below were updated October 2, 2015. The department is currently collaborating with the state’s central procurement office to select a new vendor for the 2016-17 school year. Once the vendor is selected, the department will finalize blueprints for the 2016-17 school year.

ELA Tools & Scoring
In all grades, Part I of the TNReady assessment in ELA will include two essays. One essay will be operational and count toward the students score and the second will be a field test and not count. A variety of writing types are included on the writing portion of TNReady.
All student essays on will be scored against a trait-based rubric. Each type of writing at each grade/band has a unique set of scoring guidelines.
Test developers have Tennessee-specific guidelines for what types of texts will be included on the TNReady ELA assessment. This document provides instructional implications and helpful information for teachers about the texts on TNReady.
Math Tools & Policies
In all grades, the TNReady assessment in math will include both calculator permitted sections and calculator prohibited sections. Part I will allow calculator use at all grade levels. Part II will include a calculator permitted section and a calculator prohibited section at all grade levels.
The TNReady assessment in math will allow reference sheets for all students in high school. The reference sheets are designed to match the intent of our current state standards in math, not the previous SPIs.
