Humphreys County Small Business Counseling and Roundtable
Hosted by the Humphreys County Chamber of Commerce, Wisty Pender, Middle Tennessee BERO Specialist, will provide one-on-one counseling sessions and a lunchtime roundtable for small businesses. The counseling sessions will provide business owners with resources to help grow their business, work with the government, learn about financing opportunities and more. The round table lunch discussion will be driven by the questions of the business owners who attend. The one-on-one counseling is free, but requires an appointment. Pender will be available from 9 to 10:45 am. And 1 to 3 p.m. at the Humphreys County Chamber of Commerce, located at 124 East Main St. in Waverly. The roundtable lunch will be held from 11 a.m. to noon at the Waverly Café, located at 123 North Court Sq. in Waverly. Attendees will purchase their own lunch or refreshments.

Women Business Owners' Opportunities Conference
Registration is now open for the West Tennessee Regional Women Business Owners' Opportunities Conference that will be held at Southwest Tennessee Community College. This year's conference which is being hosted by the Tennessee Economic Council on Women, Southwest Tennessee Community College, and Tennessee Economic and Community Development has grown into a two day event which will feature The Business Boot camp on June 19th -- a day long group business planning competition where teams will develop a business concept, plan and present it to a panel of judges who will award prizes to the winning team on the following day.
The WBOOC Conference Day is slated for June 20, 2008 and will offer workshops on finance, marketing, business, management and personal development. Lynn Norment, Managing Editor for Ebony Magazine, will be the keynote speaker. Her topic will focus on our theme "Learning, Linking, and Leading."
