The Research and Planning Section functions as a support arm for the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development. The division's main purpose is to identify, develop, maintain and disseminate the most up-to-date business and economic data available. The division works to support the department in its mission to foster the growth of personal income in Tennessee through the creation of higher paying jobs.
