October Named Disability Employment Awareness Month

As this year's theme, the Office of Disability Employment Policy (ODEP) of the US Department of Labor has selected: "An Inclusive Workforce is A Strong Workforce." Additionally, ODEP has posed a challenge to each of us: "So, what can you do?" DIDD would like to hear what YOU are doing to increase the number of Tennesseans with disabilities who are working. The best stories and practices will be posted on the DIDD website. Priority will be given to practices that include a focus on building alliances with your Local Workforce Investment Area. Email your stories to your DIDD Regional Employment & Day Services Coordinator by October 31, 2012 with the subject line: "Our Answer to ODEP's Challenge."

Their email addresses can be found at: as well as a host of other resources.
