Mr. Kisiel is currently Chief Executive Officer for Appalachian Orthopedic Associates, a practice of twenty-five Orthopaedic surgeons in the Tri-Cities. Mr. Kisiel brings with him a wealth of experience in the healthcare management field. He has worked in the healthcare field since 1971, in both non-profit and for-profit hospitals and hospital groups. Before coming to the First Tennessee Area, he was Chief Operating Officer at Phoenix Health Systems, Inc., a healthcare consulting firm, and Assistant Vice President at Inova Health Systems in Northern Virginia, where he was responsible for information systems. He was a member of the Inova management team which developed their total quality improvement program. Mr. Kisiel holds a B.A. and a Masters degree from The Catholic University of America.
Mr. Kisiel served as Alderman for the Town of Unicoi from 2006-2010. He has served as Vice-Chairman of the Town of Unicoi Planning Commission since 2005 and is a member of the Board of Zoning Appeals.
He is on the Board of the Unicoi Ruritan Club and has been a frequent volunteer at fund-raising events for the Clinchfield Senior Center in Erwin.
Mr. Kisiel has been a member of the Tennessee Commission on Aging and Disability (TCAD) since 2008 and was elected Chair effective October 1, 2010.
