Ms. Cele Curtis has been the coordinator of Adult Student Services, since 2001, at Cleveland State Community College located in Cleveland, TN. Prior to her employment with Cleveland State Community College, she worked from 1999-2001 as Program Director at Educational Funding of the South (edsouth), Knoxville, TN, and as a Career Counselor from 1991-1999 at Chattanooga State Technical Community College, Chattanooga, TN.
Ms. Curtis’ qualifications include involvement in many community organizations. Her objective is to work with others to evaluate, develop and implement programs which will enhance services available to Tennessee’s aging population and its citizens with disabilities and which will enable them to more easily meet their unique challenges with dignity and personal independence. She is very passionate and dedicated to serving others.
Some of Ms. Curtis’ activities include past President of the Lookout Counseling Association; former Board Member of the Southeast Tennessee Alzheimer’s Association; Board of Directors for Family Resource Agency; Advisory Board of Directors for Family Violence Program; Southeast Development District Advisory Council for Tennessee Economic Council on Women and 2007 Chair of the Economic Development Summit for Women.
Ms. Curtis has excellent communication and negotiating skills; she is a professionally trained mediator; she is skilled in establishing collaborative relationships and working groups; and has excellent organizational and supervisory skills.
Ms. Curtis attended the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, Chattanooga, TN and has a Master of Education Degree with a concentration in Community Counseling; attended the Covenant College, Lookout Mountain, GA and has a Bachelor of Science Degree with a concentration in Organizational Behavior; attended Cleveland State Community College, Cleveland, TN and has an Associate of Science Degree.
