Mission Statement
The mission of the center is to provide an atmosphere and opportunities for senior adults/adults with disabilities conducive to learning, teaching and applying wisdom which will enable them to meet their own personal needs, the needs of others and to remain independent.
Information
The senior center serves as a community focal point on aging where older persons as individuals or groups come together for services and activities.
The Senior Center Philosophy beliefs are as follows:
- Older adults & adults with disabilities, like all people, are individuals with ambitions, capabilities, and creative capacities.
- They are capable of continued growth and development.
- They have certain basic needs, including opportunities for relationships and for experiencing a sense of achievement.
- They need both access to sources of information and help for personal and family problems, and the opportunity to learn from individuals coping with similar experiences.
- They have a right to maximum opportunity for involvement in all aspects of a centers decision making process.
