The Research, Policy and Planning Division is responsible for providing statistical information for the agency accurately and in a timely manner. This division also conducts internal and external compliance reviews of probation and parole offices, Central Office and Community Corrections programs by reviewing program operations and analyzing fiscal management. A grants manager seeks sources of external funding and monitors implementation of grants received. The division also coordinates policy and forms development.


Research, Policy and Planning assists BOPP's various divisions and other entities by performing the following tasks:

  • Producing statistical reports and other information for internal and external
  • use;
  •  
  • Developing and implementing program evaluations;
  •  
  • Coordinating or conducting research projects;
  •  
  • Seeking sources of external funding and monitoring grants;
  •  
  • Coordinating the development of policy drafts for the Board's consideration;
  •  
  • Managing the development of agency forms;
  •  
  • Coordinating the development of the agency strategic and program plans;
  •  
  • Tracking and collating BOPP incident reports;
  •  
  • Providing information to be used for analyses of proposed legislation and
  • policy changes and
  •  
  • Compiling Title VI reports.
