Renewing Your Certification

Now that you have completed the training and become certified, what’s next?

Gaining Experience

Once certified, you can have your name added to a statewide registry of Certified Peer Recovery Specialists on the Tennessee Association of Mental Health Organization’s website, accessed exclusively by hiring managers.

You can search for a job on the Recovery within Reach “Jobortunity” Board located at www.recoverywithinreach.org/educationandemployment/jobortunityboard/

If you don’t have a job lined up, you can volunteer to gain experience.

Continuing Your Education

Complete 10 hours of education each year to maintain certification. One of the 10 hours must be in ethics.

Attend trainings or conferences in person or through online training and webinars.

Renewing Your Certification

To renew your certification you must provide at least 25 hours of peer recovery services each year.

Submit your continuing education documents and download a renewal application attached below in Related Links.
