TENNESSEE ARTS COMMISSION TO HOLD QUARTERLY MEETING IN KNOXVILLE
NASHVILLE - - The Tennessee Arts Commission will hold its next quarterly meeting Thursday, June 12, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. (EST). The meeting will be held at the historic Tennessee Theatre, located at 604 South Gay Street in downtown Knoxville.
According to Ed Gerace, chair of the Commission, a full agenda is planned for the East Tennessee meeting. The agenda will include reports from the Allocations Committee and the Tennessee State Museum Committee. Other reports will be provided on the successful “Talk to Me, Tennessee” Conference, planning report on a state craft center, recently-announced Public Awareness Campaign, and the upcoming National Assembly of State Arts Agencies meeting in Chattanooga. A representative of Tennesseans for the Arts will provide a legislative update.
The consent agenda will include recommendations for grant guideline revisions, review of the Arts Build Communities/Student Ticket Subsidy Designated Agencies, and appointment to the Tennessee Performing Arts Center Management Board.
Commission officers for Fiscal Year 2008 / 2009 will be nominated during the meeting. Retiring members of the Commission will be honored at events planned for the Knoxville meeting. Those members include Ed Gerace of Johnson City, Betsy Reid of Brownsville, and Gary Chazen of Chattanooga.
The Commission’s quarterly meetings are open to the public.
