The Tennessee Department of Agriculture has identified or proposed nine projects totaling $2.6 million for funding through the American Reinvestment and Recovery Act of 2009. These projects are consistent with the national goals to jumpstart the economy, create or save jobs, address social and environmental challenges and increase renewable energy.
The projects are aimed at increasing benefits to charitable organizations serving the needy, improving our environment, exploring renewable energy and protecting our forest resources. The department's proposed projects take into consideration rigorous federal and state standards for accountability and transparency.
