Tennessee's state forest management is being examined by an independent, third-party auditor to assess the state forest qualifications to be FSC forest management (FM) and chain of custody (COC) certified. The third-party auditor is SmartWood which is a Rainforest-Alliance program that is accredited by FSC to conduct assessments and certify to FSC that an organization meets the FSC Principles and Criteria.
Part of the assessment process requires notification of stakeholders and other interested parties that an assessment is being conducted and the method for public comment. Any comments or input you may provide should be directed to SmartWood. Your comments will only be available to FSC and/or SmartWood staff, unless you wish your comments or input to be made public as described in the notification.
