Feral Swine (Wild Pigs) in Tennessee

Feral swineFeral hogs (Sus scrofa) are the most prolific large mammal in the United States. Sows produce approximately 1.5 litters per year with 5-6 offspring per litter. They cause significant damage to crops and are known to carry pseudorabies and brucellosis.

Feral hogs pose a threat to the commercial swine industry as well as to human health. Wild appearing hogs being transported into Tennessee are subject to certain requirements.
